Laura Hill
Laura Hill is an accomplished gundog trainer and breeder at Stauntonvale Gundogs, known for her expertise in training Labradors. She is a respected A Panel Field Trial Judge for retrievers and has judged and trained gundogs across the UK and Europe. Laura has competed successfully in numerous field trials and working tests, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the gundog community.
Laura is also an author, with works including “Advanced Retriever Training” and “Gundog SOS,” which provide valuable insights and guidance for gundog enthusiasts. Her breeding program at Stauntonvale Gundogs is renowned for producing high-quality Labradors, contributing significantly to the field with well-bred, trained gundogs.

A message from Laura
When you train a dog and work alongside them, your relationship is greatly enhanced. It deepens your bond. For me, going through the process of enabling a dog to learn, and supporting them to make their own decisions towards the behaviours that I am aiming for, is so enriching. It is as much about ‘listening’ to your dog as it is about ‘telling’ them. It is up to us to read our dogs as well as the environment which is affecting their behaviour. In this way, we are always learning together.
