Christmas is a special time of the year for many of us, and here at ACME Whistles we are particularly partial to a mince pie or two to get us into the festive spirit. The streets around our Birmingham factory are filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas throughout December and that always makes us think about how we can incorporate the spirit of the season into our designs.
We may be a little biassed but we believe our whistles have all the makings of a wonderful, thoughtful Christmas present. They are an unexpected choice, perhaps, but that is part of their enduring appeal. All our whistles are made using traditional techniques in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, and we treat every single piece with the care and attention you would expect from a high end jeweller.

Prestige gifts
The ACME Prestige range is full of our most luxurious designs, perfect for gifting at Christmas. We are especially proud of our precious metal dog training whistles which are either made fully from sterling silver or luxurious gold, or encased in a precious metal sleeve for an elegant everyday luxury. The Heritage Collection
Every whistle in the Heritage Collection has been chosen because it has a unique pedigree and a fascinating history. In this range you will find some of our most iconic designs such as the Thunderer which is the original flight jacket whistle and has close ties with the sporting, rail, and military worlds. They can be hand engraved with initials or a short message of your choice, though we also have extra special Thunderers engraved with everything from iconic British rail carriers to military supply symbols.
Other notable designs in the Heritage Collection include the Metropolitan Police whistle and the original WWI trench whistle. These both have some of the most interesting histories of any whistle in the world, with the Metropolitan Police whistle being credited with transforming life on the beat during the late 1800s, and the trench whistle bearing the iconic call for soldiers to go ‘over the top’. The ACME Peace Whistle is another lovely gift whistle from this collection to honour any serviceman or woman, proudly emblazoned with a Flanders Field poppy motif.
